Getting out of debt is probably one of the hardest things to do. You have to wait until each paycheck and you see that debt number sitting there, not moving anywhere.
One of the key things to do when trying to get out of debt is to keep busy. When you have time to sit and think and watch tv, all you want to do is go buy something... Working on the yard, cleaning out the garage and little things that keep you busy help.

Just a ittle fever, but started me thinking; does anyone know anything about those HSA's. We sort of do one, but i don't think we are doing it right.
3 days without a coke, and the headaches are mostly gone. Thanks for your comments.
Just paid all my bills for the month with $200 left over. Going to be a long time till June 15th...

1. I am giving up soft drinks. After drinking half of my 1 liter coke this morning, i have decided that soft drinks taste horrible and i am going to stop drinking them for water. This will help me in so many ways. So everyday i post, i will post with how many days i am soft drink free.
2. I walked to work today. I live about 1/2 mile from where i work. I currently drive back and forth between the two about 4 times a day. I am going to cut this down to 1 if i can. This should save money and get me a little healthier.
I think both of these will help in the long run in two areas: 1. save money, 2 healthier.

I am currently over 20,000 in debt and going to write a blog to help me and others get out of the world of debt.
I make around 42,000 a year and my wife makes around 10,000. I have a son that just turned 3.
I currently spend about 2000 a month on debt. We probably spend about 1000 a month on stupid stuff.
I have one discover card that i currently use. It has a 1000 limit and it pays me back 5% a gallon on gas purchases. Car loans, and college loans are the majority of my debt.
I will enter as often as i have a thought that i want to remember.
My goal is to have a majority of my debt paid off by the end of the year.
I think my wife has other plans, because she keeps trying to add to my (oops, our) debt.
If you have any suggestions or comments, i will respond.
