1 day of no cokes and my head hurts... probably a caffine reaction...

I reviewed my bills and found that i pay over 25 bills a month... I need to cut them down a little bit... hopefully 20 by next month...

I had heard that going without caffeine will make your head hurt. Just hang in there, you can do it!!!!

I KNOW going without caffeine makes your head hurt. When I weaned off coffee, I did it one tablespoon at a time, then went onto Excedrin, cutting them in half and tapering off.

i went off caffeine cold turkey, under advisement from my doctor for headaches and migraines.

I had violent headaches for about 2 weeks, and then my body settled down.

19 months later, I am having many many less headaches, and if I do have one, they are less painful and for a lesser duration.

We don't really need caffeine to live a good life. I have an occasional drink of decaffeinated tea and a very occasional piece of chocolate now and again.

Oops! I went through that too. Dh was sick and had to go off anything with caffeine, and I went off at the same time. My head burned for a few days, and then I felt fine.

I was, at one point, drinking tons of pepsi. When I felt my body really craving it, I went off that and, once again, put up with the headaches. I think I've learned my lesson, now!

Good luck. It's hard for a short time, but worth it. Keep posting...

My wife gets very bad headaches if she does not have her coffee every day. It does take time to get the caffeine out of your system!!

It isn't just the caffeine that causes headaches, though they definitely do. A lot of people who drink Coke and Pepsi (most soda really, but its not as bad with the clear ones) are also reacting to the loss of a major amount of high fructose corn syrup suddenly being withdrawn from their body. The worse the headache the stronger the reaction your body has to removing these things from your body, trying to get all the toxins out. And if it is a diet pop with aspartame you can also get withdrawal headaches from going off that. If you are sensitive to all three, the headaches are horrid and a strong OTC painkiller is a must.

Of course, we learned all this the hard way with Rose's food allergies, and her doctor confirmed it, too.
